Community Event 3: Happy Holidays!

Okay, okay, she got volunteers this time. She kind of had to in order to get the lights, tinsel, and various decorations up and around the room. Yes, that massive tree and all the ornaments were not possible to get up by the small dog alone. Not only that, but she asked everyone in Future Foundation, Hope's Army, and other friends to contribute an ornament to this tree.

"It looks great! Now, get that table over there! Oh, make sure the presents are under the tree... not that under! That table goes next to the tree for the Secret Santa gifts. Perfect!"

Bells jingling, she walked over to inspect the food. Looked great with turkey with stuffing, ham, and cinnamon baked apples, but she encouraged people to bring food from home too. For her, she paused at the fruitcake, tail wagging. This was her contribution after learning humans didn't like fruitcake for some reason; she was determined to make one everyone would like. Drinks of coffee, hot chocolate, non-alcoholic cider, and eggnog, she was going to keep this family-friendly... mostly. Again, she tried to accommodate for everyone.

Music? Check. Tables? Check. Laptop to contact Kalos? Check check. Looking up and at several areas in the room, mistletoe was a check. With a smile and nod, she hopped over to the doors and opened them.

"Happy Holidays everyone! Enjoy yourselves!"

I guess we could try it. Where's the KFC, though? I thought turkey was what we had on that other holiday last month.

KFC?

Yeah, a bucket of KFC. Everyone has that for Christmas back home, there are lines out the door and you call in advance and everything. Americans don't do that? I always thought you did.

[callbacks]

We have KFC, but not on Christmas in particular. And I've never heard of making reservations to a greasy, ubiquitous fast food chain.

It sounds awesome.

Okay, it's way too soon to do it this year, but next year, we stop by my place and pick up some KFC and Christmas cake on the way here. Deal? I mean, I already made the Christmas cake this year anyway, but.

[callbacks]

Yes.

Hell yes.

Hell fuckin' yes. Let's make Greasemas happen.

[mopocalypse]

Great! And this year, we can just have this nice food. I might be getting used to the turkey, even if this is only my second time having it. Wait, that's a lie, there were leftovers after that other holiday last month and Isa-chan obviously couldn't take them home, so we got some of that. It was kind of cool, I tried frying it in a pan with some scrambled eggs like I saw on some cooking show once. Onee-chan had to help, but I think I can do it this time!

[Duster worries when Haruka acts so surprised when he likes her gifts. She's come a long way since he first met her, but when he thinks about it, does he still have issues with trusting himself?

So he nods and holds the tie pin close to his chest.] It means a lot to me, and that's more important. [What a day not to come in his suit and tie.] I need to step up my game and get a shirt saying "best little sister" next time!

[The box with the bag of candy goes under his arm, but he'll work that pin onto the fold of his shirt.]

I'm really glad! And here I was worried about whether you'd like it. Your presents are awesome, though! I want to do this kind of Christmas every year.

[mindofathief]

[Thumbs up!] We really should! There's a lot of things from my world I have to show you!

[mopocalypse]

Did you find something fun for us to explore again?

[mindofathief]

Mm-hm. I found another cave in the mountains to the north. I'm sure we'll run into wildlife, but there's bound to be something interesting in there. [It wouldn't be an RPG without treasure inside a dungeon.]

...We should bring more food next time. Just in case we need to heal up and we aren't lucky enough to have Lucas follow us into an ambush.

[mopocalypse]

Sure! Just give me a list of what all we need. I can bring a whole picnic basket along! That'll be good for everyone. Who all's coming?

[mindofathief]

[He holds up a hand and counts on his fingers with his head tilted upward as he thinks.] Let's see...Harvey wanted to visit Tazmily again, so I should ask him. Rufioh, Dave, and Allie want to come, and Futo's interested in training again.

[They got some fighters on their team. They should be good.] I'll ask around one more time, but expect seven of us.

[mopocalypse]

Sure, sure! That sounds like fun. I like having all of you around, and I bet we can work well together.

[kurechin]

[ She's a little late (because it's kind of hard to keep track of the time in yuri bear world) but rest assured that come this Christmas party, Kureha is here. She's dressed up all fancy with her hair tied to the side in a neat low ponytail and she's got a big bag dangling from her arm that looks like it's full of presents -- to say nothing of the huge bouquet of purple hyacinths in her arms, but those are for her secret santa.

With that passed off, she's ready to mingle and catch up with everyone -- and probably give out the rest of her gifts, too. ]

[ ... you know, if Kureha didn't trust Isabelle enough to know she wouldn't pull a stunt like that, she'd suspect this was on purpose but. Oh well.

So. She's got him a gift. And she's feeling all kinds of awkward but she goes to deliver them in person anyway. She's got something she wants to say. ]

Um. Mister Finevoice...?

[kurechin]

You're going to cause an incident, you know.

[ surprise, a Kureha has appeared. she knows what you're up to, missy. ]

Are you trying to set anyone in particular up, or are you just trying to get anyone kissing?

[kurechin]

Duster, Merry Christmas!

[ tis a Kureha! she sits herself next to him with a little smile, that bag of gifts swinging on her arm as she does so. ]

Did you help set all this up?

[callbacks]

[SUDDENLY, A BROTHER NOODLE.]

Sis!

[Dave drapes himself obnoxiously all over Kureha's shoulders, because this is what passes for a hug around these parts.]

Where have you been all my life.

[Dave, geez, she's only a little late.]

[callbacks]

[Dave's smile actually takes a tick towards the genuine.]

So that's going good, then? The stuff with your sister and all, I mean.

[kurechin]

And Merry Christmas to you too.

[ she's grinning though and turns a bit to toss her arms around him in a big ol' bear hug (which are technically the only kind of hugs she can give get it because she's a bear) ]

I would've gotten here a little sooner, but I had to finish everyone's gifts -- turning up without them kind of seemed like it'd be bad manners.

Well, yeah, I mean otherwise what is even the point of Christmas, obviously.

[He finally straightens.]

What'd you get me. Is it awesome. Is it a dinosaur? I already have a dinosaur.

[POKEWORLD IMMIGRANTS, AM I RIGHT.]

KUREHAAAAAAAAN!

[Haruka waves and dashes over from across the room, that same bag she toted around murderschool in tow. It's hug time.]

[Oh. Harvey doesn't tense, exactly, but he definitely looks slightly nervous. His therapy Pokemon Chansey doesn't seem to be around just at the moment - there's no easy buffer between them.]
