Community Event 3: Happy Holidays!

Okay, okay, she got volunteers this time. She kind of had to in order to get the lights, tinsel, and various decorations up and around the room. Yes, that massive tree and all the ornaments were not possible to get up by the small dog alone. Not only that, but she asked everyone in Future Foundation, Hope's Army, and other friends to contribute an ornament to this tree.

"It looks great! Now, get that table over there! Oh, make sure the presents are under the tree... not that under! That table goes next to the tree for the Secret Santa gifts. Perfect!"

Bells jingling, she walked over to inspect the food. Looked great with turkey with stuffing, ham, and cinnamon baked apples, but she encouraged people to bring food from home too. For her, she paused at the fruitcake, tail wagging. This was her contribution after learning humans didn't like fruitcake for some reason; she was determined to make one everyone would like. Drinks of coffee, hot chocolate, non-alcoholic cider, and eggnog, she was going to keep this family-friendly... mostly. Again, she tried to accommodate for everyone.

Music? Check. Tables? Check. Laptop to contact Kalos? Check check. Looking up and at several areas in the room, mistletoe was a check. With a smile and nod, she hopped over to the doors and opened them.

"Happy Holidays everyone! Enjoy yourselves!"

You know he's not going to let it go until he gets that kiss. [UGH just imagine poor Meridiana getting caught up with him. Tsukiyama and Ryuunosuke, not so much.] For everyone's safety...

[He walks up to a low-hanging piece of mistletoe.] We have to get these down.

[mopocalypse]

[suuuuuuuulk] We don't even know if he's gonna come. He probably just doesn't want to come hang around with a bunch of "losers who won't give me any free stuff." [The last part said in a very poor impression of Wario.]

[mindofathief]

We're giving each other presents. He just won't come with any to give us.

[There goes the mistletoe hanging over the laptop.] ...Just how many did you put up?

[mopocalypse]

Uhh... kind of a lot? I thought it was fun, Aniki.

[mindofathief]

[He steps back and looks around the entire room.

Oh my god.

Just how many did he look over?]

...Your plan was to have everyone kissing at some point or another.

[Opens mouth. Closes it.] ...What are the mistletoe rules, anyway? Can you refuse a kiss?

[mopocalypse]

Uh... hmm. Actually, I forget! I know it doesn't have to be on the mouth if you don't want it to.

[mindofathief]

That's...better.

[Not that he'd complain about kissing his friends, but

1) What if Wario was here?

2) There are people/ghouls Duster doesn't want to accidentally bump into under the mistletoe. Judging by his luck, it's likely that would happen.]

...We can leave a few. Just not everywhere. [Don't want to ruin the fun.] It's better when it's a surprise, right?

[mopocalypse]

Okay, okay... Sorry, Aniki. What would you say was more fun, anyway?

[He holds the piece of mistletoe up to Haruka's hair ties and pushes it into her hair.] Are you asking about the kissing or the mistletoe?

[mopocalypse]

[She laughs.] Anything you'd do at a Christmas party!

[mindofathief]

The food. [It's the obvious answer.] After that, it's the Christmas music.

...Like that one song with the bells and electric guitars.

[mopocalypse]

Yeah, that one was cool! And if it snowed enough outside, we could make snowmen, but we don't have enough. Oh well, it's cold anyway.

[mindofathief]

Yeah, cold by itself isn't as fun, and even in Tazmily, the coldest days were never like this. [Being outside under the threat of frostbite is no fun.]

...This might be a bit weird, but I never saw it snow. The only place on the Nowhere Islands with snow is a mountain.

[mopocalypse]

That's fine, that's fine. It barely snows in our town, either! I mean, except this one time in the dream world...

[mindofathief]

The dream world's a strange place. [He pauses to think.] Someone must have really wished for snow, and since it was a dream, it happened. Just like that.

[mopocalypse]

Yeah... Something like that. It was Anego's loop. No one remembers to tell me for sure, but I think she kinda had more control over it, even if she didn't know she did?

[mindofathief]

Yeah...I think I get it. That dream world looked at your desires deep inside your heart and made the real. As real as illusions can get. [His mouth tightens into a small frown.] Like the opposite of Kumasin.

[He shakes his head vigorously to get that thought out of his head.] Did anything strange like that happen in your loop?

[mopocalypse]

Mine? Not really... At least, I don't think so. Rain when we were sad. It just seemed normal, convenient. Like off those movies and stuff.

[mindofathief]

Ah. Right. Like in moves. [He still doesn't get their appeal, but he's starting to appreciate the ones that are actually decent.] Now that you mentioned movies, Kayneth and I found some that were based off the books he gave me. They're pretty good!

Except he was pretty mad about the changes they made to the story.
