worldhop | Community Event 3: Happy Holidays!

Okay, okay, she got volunteers this time. She kind of had to in order to get the lights, tinsel, and various decorations up and around the room. Yes, that massive tree and all the ornaments were not possible to get up by the small dog alone. Not only that, but she asked everyone in Future Foundation, Hope's Army, and other friends to contribute an ornament to this tree.

"It looks great! Now, get that table over there! Oh, make sure the presents are under the tree... not that under! That table goes next to the tree for the Secret Santa gifts. Perfect!"

Bells jingling, she walked over to inspect the food. Looked great with turkey with stuffing, ham, and cinnamon baked apples, but she encouraged people to bring food from home too. For her, she paused at the fruitcake, tail wagging. This was her contribution after learning humans didn't like fruitcake for some reason; she was determined to make one everyone would like. Drinks of coffee, hot chocolate, non-alcoholic cider, and eggnog, she was going to keep this family-friendly... mostly. Again, she tried to accommodate for everyone.

Music? Check. Tables? Check. Laptop to contact Kalos? Check check. Looking up and at several areas in the room, mistletoe was a check. With a smile and nod, she hopped over to the doors and opened them.

"Happy Holidays everyone! Enjoy yourselves!"

[There's a table for Secret Santa. Of course, it's optional to use. People can of course deliver their gifts directly.]

[Mistletoe, mistletoe, and kisses on the cheek will do for people who randomly find themselves there.]

[Haruka tried to knit Dave a scarf. Tried. The chaotic mess of yarn looks more like Swiss cheese got thrown into a blender, but it's there, even if now it's serving a transformed purpose as a decorative nest to put this thing into. She's also filled the mug with five-cent candies, so that's a thing.]

Yahaha. Sorry?

[Haruka has Meringue out and is bounding around the place, drinking hot chocolate and setting out a fancy Christmas cake. The tacky clothing has returned, and this time it's even Christmas-themed; seems she was right about ugly clothes giving her murderschool nostalgia. Meringue even has a little matching scarf that clashes horribly with the red ribbon on his head.

She might also have snuck around setting up more mistletoe around the place. Haruka's is plastic, though. Hey, she doesn't have that much cash.]

[Duster gets distracted at some point during the party - all the food and friends got him to stop paying attention to his surroundings. Because of this, he finds himself suddenly underneath the mistletoe with someone next to him.

He looks up.

Then back at the other person.] Um.

[Those who were expecting Duster to arrive in his suit will be surprised to find him wearing a green sweater and his regular bright red pants. He'll get to the double bass...eventually...but while Tazmily has a winter solstice festival, he wants to experience a Future Foundation Christmas to the fullest.

He helps Isabelle decorate the tree before the party because why have dogmom do all the work when you can reach the highest branches without the use of a stepladder?

Duster leaves Rope Snake to slither off and explore the table of food while he finds a comfy spot to sit and watch the wonderful gathering of people.]

Yaha, Aniki! [Haruka waves, not that you couldn't spot her from across the room in that tacky outfit.] I've never done Western Christmas before like a lot of these people have. Actually, I've never really done much of Christmas the way we do back home, either. How's the party?

[That green and red mixed with long pink hair is a difficult combination to ignore. Duster waves from his seat right back and stands up to give Haruka a hug. It's been a month since they last saw each other.]

Isabelle's the best at throwing living parties. [Ghost parties are also fun, but the world is a lot less colorful and it's kind of sad.] Even if we don't call it Christmas where I'm from, we're still celebrating the same thing, right?

[Hug!] Yeah, Isa-chan can do anything! I heard you're supposed to get presents for everyone in some countries, so I didn't want to disappoint anybody, but it was hard finding people stuff...

Um. [Looks around the room.] There'a lot of people we'd have to buy presents for. [What would he give to the FF members who he didn't know well? More ribbons?]

...I got a present for you, of course. [He pulls out a flat package wrapped in brown paper. Colorful wrapping is hard to come by in a post-apocalyptic world.]

Whoa, thanks! [She sets Meringue down, opens up her bag, and pulls out a little package, exchanging it for Duster's. Haruka opens her present; what's there?]

[It's another shirt. This time, it's small enough to fit Haruka with "DCMC" written on it in flashy yellow and black letters in front of a pinkish-red backdrop. There's also a pamphlet, a cap, and an armband with that same logo.]

It's all stuff from Club Titiboo. I thought I could give you some of the exclusive merchandise for free. [He won't be surprised if Haruka wears it during the party. It perfectly mismatches with the rest of her getup.

In the meantime, he unwraps his present. What's in this one?]

Whoa, it's "cool!" [She hugs it and puts it all back in her bag.] I'll wear it later! I hope you like your stuff, even if it's not as nice.

[Duster does indeed get that tie clip, along with a small bag of candy.]

Sorry, I didn't really have a lot of options and I didn't know if you'd like it...

[IT'S MOTHAFUCKIN' CHRISTMAS!]

Holy shit.

[Dave is elated. He throws the awful janky scarf on immediately, where it makes his already horrendous Christmas sweater (where did he even get this, no self-respecting shop in Kalos would offer this fucking eyesore to anyone with eyes) look even worse.]

Harks, it's like you see into my very soul every time. Here, take yours.

[Haruka's gift is also a two-parter. The larger box is this rag, while the smaller one turns out to be a music CD he burned for her. It's titled, "Pokéworld's Drrrtiest Hits: Karaoke Edition."]

Hope you get some use out of these.

[Haruka hugs the presents and puts them into her bag immediately. She smiles brightly.]

This is the best Christmas I've ever seen. We should do this every year.

Bet we will. Smell that? That's one hundred percent distilled future tradition we got in the air here. I can tell these things, I'm a professional.

Your guys's Christmas is way fun. Is that weird cake block normal?

[He's quiet when he first sees the pin. Duster gave Haruka a lot of things, but this...is something worth more that that.]

It's perfect! [He smiles and picks it up with his thumb and forefinger, bringing it closer to his eyes.] I'm wearing this to the New Year concert!

[The candy is great, too, but that might not last as long.]

Cake block...oh. Uh, I guess that's probably a fruitcake? TBH, I've never actually had that, but it's supposedly traditional.

[He eyes it dubiously.]

[Slowly, Haruka starts to light up.] Really? You like it? I thought I hadn't given you enough, I mean, you gave me a ton of stuff, and...
