Community Event 3: Happy Holidays!

Okay, okay, she got volunteers this time. She kind of had to in order to get the lights, tinsel, and various decorations up and around the room. Yes, that massive tree and all the ornaments were not possible to get up by the small dog alone. Not only that, but she asked everyone in Future Foundation, Hope's Army, and other friends to contribute an ornament to this tree.

"It looks great! Now, get that table over there! Oh, make sure the presents are under the tree... not that under! That table goes next to the tree for the Secret Santa gifts. Perfect!"

Bells jingling, she walked over to inspect the food. Looked great with turkey with stuffing, ham, and cinnamon baked apples, but she encouraged people to bring food from home too. For her, she paused at the fruitcake, tail wagging. This was her contribution after learning humans didn't like fruitcake for some reason; she was determined to make one everyone would like. Drinks of coffee, hot chocolate, non-alcoholic cider, and eggnog, she was going to keep this family-friendly... mostly. Again, she tried to accommodate for everyone.

Music? Check. Tables? Check. Laptop to contact Kalos? Check check. Looking up and at several areas in the room, mistletoe was a check. With a smile and nod, she hopped over to the doors and opened them.

"Happy Holidays everyone! Enjoy yourselves!"

[Haruka has Meringue out and is bounding around the place, drinking hot chocolate and setting out a fancy Christmas cake. The tacky clothing has returned, and this time it's even Christmas-themed; seems she was right about ugly clothes giving her murderschool nostalgia. Meringue even has a little matching scarf that clashes horribly with the red ribbon on his head.

She might also have snuck around setting up more mistletoe around the place. Haruka's is plastic, though. Hey, she doesn't have that much cash.]

Are you trying to set anyone in particular up, or are you just trying to get anyone kissing?

The world's not going to end because of kissing! Probably. Maybe? Though it might be exciting if it did. Now I'm going to have to think about that.

Whoever either needs the push or would just be hilarious to watch.

I think the Future Foundation would be just a little annoyed if you caused an apocalypse during the Christmas party. Or during any time of year, come to think of it.

Hmm, I dunno! Is Silver-kun even here yet or did he ditch to steal people's food? Ryouji-kun's been going on a lot about how he needs to admit that he's in love with both Dave-kun and Meri-Meri, and I kiiiiiiiinda have to agree, you know? What do you think?

I have no idea. I think Ryouji-kun's trying to be all subtle about it. Like taking them on double dates but ditching Silver-kun with them while he runs off somewhere.

...Isn't this a bit much?

[Is your plan to make no place free of kissing? Duster turns to look at the food table. There may be no safe places when Haruka is done.]

Nothing is a bit much, Aniki, I didn't even set off illegal fireworks.

Wh-fireworks aren't illegal. [Unless they're used as weapons. He's sure Haruka has a strong moral compass not to do that.] I meant that you're hanging up mistletoe everywhere. Isabelle told me it's supposed to be hidden so you don't expect it at the worst possible times.

If you don't have a permit, I think they are. [smiles] Yahaha. I dunno, I thought it'd be fun! Besides, Intern-san being all "love-love" with his girlfriend somewhere not the wormhole machine means no accidents, right?

[Why would you need a permit for something like that? In small villages, you assume you're going to use it right or else everyone gets mad at you.]

We need to put better barriers around that thing. Why would they even...do that right next to important equipment?

Or twice, but I got lucky.

That's not really a reason to risk putting other people in danger. [And for what? Having fun? It's enough to sour his Christmas spirit by a notch.]

I dunno, Aniki, I don't think they're doing any harm. It's just funny.

What if someone has to kiss Wario?

That's the most horrifying thing I've ever heard!

You know he's not going to let it go until he gets that kiss. [UGH just imagine poor Meridiana getting caught up with him. Tsukiyama and Ryuunosuke, not so much.] For everyone's safety...

[He walks up to a low-hanging piece of mistletoe.] We have to get these down.

[suuuuuuuulk] We don't even know if he's gonna come. He probably just doesn't want to come hang around with a bunch of "losers who won't give me any free stuff." [The last part said in a very poor impression of Wario.]

We're giving each other presents. He just won't come with any to give us.

[There goes the mistletoe hanging over the laptop.] ...Just how many did you put up?

[mopocalypse]

Uhh... kind of a lot? I thought it was fun, Aniki.

[He steps back and looks around the entire room.

...Your plan was to have everyone kissing at some point or another.

[Opens mouth. Closes it.] ...What are the mistletoe rules, anyway? Can you refuse a kiss?

Uh... hmm. Actually, I forget! I know it doesn't have to be on the mouth if you don't want it to.

That's...better.

[Not that he'd complain about kissing his friends, but

1) What if Wario was here?

2) There are people/ghouls Duster doesn't want to accidentally bump into under the mistletoe. Judging by his luck, it's likely that would happen.]

...We can leave a few. Just not everywhere. [Don't want to ruin the fun.] It's better when it's a surprise, right?
