Community Event 2: Thanksgiving/Harvest Festival

It's a little of A and a little of B. The food is present - gosh, is the food present. Isabelle made sure not to miss anything: turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, casserole, buttermilk rolls, cornbread, and those were just the normal options. Accommodations were made to diets like her own, and she even managed to get something for their more uniquely diet guest who would only subsist on coffee otherwise.

Besides the food, the hall has been decorated too thanks to her brother Digby and the Happy Home Academy. Festive fallen leaves decor with dark rugs, neatly hung drapes by the windows gathered into gold ropes, long tables with cream table cloths set with plates and silverware, and comfortable chairs colored yellow, orange, and red as they lined the tables.

"Okay, a piano if someone wants to play it, double string bass, speakers and... mhm! Beverages on that table, and laptop over there... that looks like everything! And right on time!"

Isabelle's beaming as she lowers her clipboard and fixes her tie - she really likes this Future Foundation suit. Bells jingling, she walks over to the main door which she knocks several times so they can be open.

"Welcome everyone and thank you for waiting! Come in and enjoy yourselves!"

Really, really? Thanks a lot! I really need to do something for everyone, too. I mean, there was my birthday, but that was at the Future Foundation.

Hm... Oh! Want to help me plan the next party? After all, it's Toy Day!

[mopocalypse]

What's Toy Day? Whatever it is, it sounds like a lot of fun!

[itsabelle]

Toy Day is the day when Jingle comes to town and delivers presents to the villagers.

[mopocalypse]

So it's like Christmas, but everyone gets presents, not just kids! That sounds fun. We could have one of those huge trees like in the middle of town.

[itsabelle]

I think the Mayor wanted to try that. Though, what's Christmas?

[mopocalypse]

It's this holiday where Santa-san, who's actually your parents but kids don't know that, gives all the good kids presents and the bad ones get coal. I used to hate it when I was a kid, but now it's a lot of fun! If you're older, there are parties, plus a lot of people go on super romantic dates, and there's cake and chicken, too.

[itsabelle]

That does sound like Toy Day. Though, I don't think anyone ever got coal before.

[mopocalypse]

It's usually just a threat to behave, and then you get toys anyway. That's what everyone says, at least. [She frowns, but then claps and brightens.] But, but! We can make this year's Christmas-slash-Toy-Day awesome. Do we have a deep fryer? We could even make our own chicken and not have to wait in line at the KFC! Or wait, maybe we can even get that tofu chicken for people who don't eat meat! Though I don't know if it tastes the same or not.

[itsabelle]

I didn't see a deep-fryer in the kitchen, but I can see if we can bring one here! Tofu chicken?? I could learn how to prepare that.

[If it's for people like her, she can totally handle that]

[mopocalypse]

I can see if I can find anything for it. I have no idea how to make it, I'll be honest with you.

[itsabelle]

Well, we can both begin trying to learn a few weeks before the party.

[mopocalypse]

Really? You think I'm getting better at cooking new things?

[itsabelle]

Yes! Just keep at it, okay?

[mopocalypse]

Sure! I didn't set the last thing we tried on fire, so it's encouraging! Or something.

Right! We'll make the best food, you'll see.
