Community Event 2: Thanksgiving/Harvest Festival

It's a little of A and a little of B. The food is present - gosh, is the food present. Isabelle made sure not to miss anything: turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, casserole, buttermilk rolls, cornbread, and those were just the normal options. Accommodations were made to diets like her own, and she even managed to get something for their more uniquely diet guest who would only subsist on coffee otherwise.

Besides the food, the hall has been decorated too thanks to her brother Digby and the Happy Home Academy. Festive fallen leaves decor with dark rugs, neatly hung drapes by the windows gathered into gold ropes, long tables with cream table cloths set with plates and silverware, and comfortable chairs colored yellow, orange, and red as they lined the tables.

"Okay, a piano if someone wants to play it, double string bass, speakers and... mhm! Beverages on that table, and laptop over there... that looks like everything! And right on time!"

Isabelle's beaming as she lowers her clipboard and fixes her tie - she really likes this Future Foundation suit. Bells jingling, she walks over to the main door which she knocks several times so they can be open.

"Welcome everyone and thank you for waiting! Come in and enjoy yourselves!"

[Haruka bursts in, wearing her Future Foundation suit rumpled and decorated with ribbons and pins that match her flower hair ties. She starts perusing the food tables.]

What all is half this stuff?

[There are two very easy ways to get Silver to show up to something. The first is free food, and the second is "you don't say no to Isabelle."

Today meets both of those criteria, and Silver sits down with Weavile next to them as they enjoy all of this delicious food (half of which they've actually heard of just now.) Silver's a fan of the cornbread, while Weavile's a fan of the mashed potatoes, although he's... Having a little difficulty picking them up or using a fork.

Isn't this kind of late for a harvest festival?

[Duster walks in wearing his pink suit jacket and white pants: his band outfit. Music will come later, food is the most important thing at the moment.

So. Much. Food. It's all homemade and not some commercialized junk the Pig Empire created, so even better. Still, Duster is careful to eat a little bit of food at a time, tasting it carefully before eating another bite. It's not that he doesn't trust Isabelle to not put additives into the food, but some habits are hard to break.]

[You know, the food is somewhere between "Ah, Isabelle, you shouldn't have" and "...HOLY SHIT ISABELLE YOU PROBABLY ACTUALLY SHOULD NOT HAVE" but the fact of the matter is that she did, and Tsukiyama doesn't say no to Isabelle so he's here today, and he isn't about to apologize for any of it because damn it, we're here to have a decent time.

It's been a while since he's seen most of the individuals here in person; there are a few exceptions here and there, but at the very least he doesn't seem too awkward about it. He's looking...better than he did in the school, at least - still on the thin side, and he looks a bit wary, a bit tired, maybe, but that's more due to "some things you don't shake off very easily" as opposed to actual nerves due to anybody here.

He'll eat, though, including things that are more, ah...generally acceptable, for the sake of not being utterly rude; he can eat reasonably human-normal things once in a while, if he's patient enough with it, and honestly for Isabelle he's willing to put forth the effort even if he's going to hate everything his life has decided to be after the fact.

Otherwise, he can definitely be found at that piano from time to time; he's sticking to classical for the most part, though he'll do other things if requested.]

[We definitely don't say no to Isabelle, and since she was kind enough to provide for Tsukiyama (good job, dogmom, you're the best!! and also really cool) so Ryuunosuke's here as well. Unsurprisingly, he's dressed like a goddamn disaster, though it looks like he's actually gotten new clothes in the same style as the old ones. The bright teal skinny jeans are new, but at least they're not clashing horribly with the black shirt he's wearing. The sleeves are rolled up to his elbows and the collar is open a couple of buttons so that massive scar is visible. He's still wearing that ring Tsukiyama gave him in the hotel, and of course he's still got the leopard print shoes.

For the most part he's pretty calm and happy, though he'll be sticking pretty close to Tsukiyama. Eventually he'll find a seat away from everyone else and he'll get to work on... something. Ryuunosuke's doing a lot of writing while examining a book he's got open in front of him, though it's not in either Chinese or Japanese. It looks like he's actually studying, and judging from just how determined he looks, it seems to be something he's very passionate about.]

[ so admittedly Kureha doesn't really have any idea what this holiday is supposed to be but there's food, friends and Isabelle made this happen so there really isn't any question of her turning up, is there?

She's even made a point of dressing up nicely, in her Future Foundation suit -- paws and ears still out of course, though. Don't question how she's holding food with them. Just don't.

Once she's downed some food and mingled a bit, she decides to take a turn at the piano when it's free and... yes, she's also playing piano with those huge paws of hers. It is a mystery.

[ Futo joins the trail of people wondering just what the hell this holiday is for. Duster's right, this is way too late in the year to be a good harvest festival..........oh well, it's an excuse to see everyone. Also dogmom, can't disappoint dogmom.

She looks a little uncomfortable in the suit but still manages to rock it somehow. ]

Thine harvests are quite late...but I shan't say no to such an atmosphere.

[ The carnivore over here (why is there so much meat on her plate, how can one person eat this much turkey) will probably be wallflowering for a bit, but damn if those paper shikigami don't come in handy. So one may be fluttering around you or tapping your shoulder. ]

[It's been so long since everyone's gotten together like this, and with the Future Foundation and other members, too! She's so happy that everything's going so well, and is doing her best to keep everyone engaged, but she stops every now and then to take a break off her paws. This is nothing compared to standing at the Town Hall desk all day, but even she needs a second every few hours.]

[So, while she's at a table enjoying some Mushroom Stew, why not join her?]

[Though concerned about another in their group, it took insistence from her to go, and reassurance that she would be contacted that finally made Naomi attend. The doctor hadn't actually been planning on it, but there were few opportunities to meet the others outside of these gatherings - she never really made it to any birthday parties which was unfortunate due to work, but she tried to see them. More human doctors could stand to be a thing in Kalos, but she would have to give it time.]

[The spread is great, but Naomi will only pick at some and mingle a little. Otherwise, she's acting as usual by making sure everyone behaves. That includes monitoring the drinks, but would someone spike them tonight? It would be a shame if anyone ended up intoxicated and losing what good food they had eaten so she'll keep her post by the table while enjoying a little wine herself.]

[So you know has been 100x busy? This girl. Allie's kept up what correspondence that she can via letters (ugh, pain, interdimensional texting has to become a thing please) but any of it has spoken of readjusting to life outside murderhotel and involved a side helping of "blah blah potential world ending BS that I have been totally sidelined from but keep trying to get involved in anyway how are you doing"

...with very little actual explanation of what that means um.

It also means she hasn't been able to visit the others at all, so after around three months of no contact, she's beyond psyched- but a little shy, as well. Regardless, she's here and ready to mingle.]
