Community Event 2: Thanksgiving/Harvest Festival

It's a little of A and a little of B. The food is present - gosh, is the food present. Isabelle made sure not to miss anything: turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, casserole, buttermilk rolls, cornbread, and those were just the normal options. Accommodations were made to diets like her own, and she even managed to get something for their more uniquely diet guest who would only subsist on coffee otherwise.

Besides the food, the hall has been decorated too thanks to her brother Digby and the Happy Home Academy. Festive fallen leaves decor with dark rugs, neatly hung drapes by the windows gathered into gold ropes, long tables with cream table cloths set with plates and silverware, and comfortable chairs colored yellow, orange, and red as they lined the tables.

"Okay, a piano if someone wants to play it, double string bass, speakers and... mhm! Beverages on that table, and laptop over there... that looks like everything! And right on time!"

Isabelle's beaming as she lowers her clipboard and fixes her tie - she really likes this Future Foundation suit. Bells jingling, she walks over to the main door which she knocks several times so they can be open.

"Welcome everyone and thank you for waiting! Come in and enjoy yourselves!"

[Silver doesn't bother to approach Tsukiyama, or strike up a conversation.

Instead, he takes his plate of food and heads right over to sit down on the floor next to the piano; he's waiting patiently like a puppy whenever Tsukiyama next shows up.]

[And show up eventually he will; he pauses for a brief moment at Silver's presence, tipping his head a bit, but he smiles eventually and when he sits down his hands find their position on the keys easily.

When he starts, it's a bit different from what he's been playing for the most part tonight.]

[And there's no honorifics this time, either - really, he finds it nice that way.]

[Silver relaxes immediately once the music starts; he has to stop himself from leaning back on the piano. He nods at Tsukiyama's question; this is definitely his definition of a good time. Weavile joins Tsukiyama on the piano bench.]

Isabelle's a really good cook.

[...Not that Tsukiyama can... Well, he was eating something, so-]

[That gets a quiet, assenting noise out of him; at least he doesn't seem bothered?]

She is, yes; I've studied that sort of thing extensively, even if I can't experience it properly - it's always been important to me to do that. And Ryuunosuke describes things to me sometimes; he's a decent gauge.

I know enough to tell that she does rather well at it, anyway.

Do you want me to tell you what this is like?

[...Where does he start? He pauses for a moment to collect his thoughts before he speaks.]

The cornbread's a little more like cake than bread; it's soft and crumbles easily, and it tastes pretty sweet, but not too sweet. Pastries can get pretty rich and sit heavily in your stomach, but that isn't the case with this one.

The mashed potatoes taste exactly like what they sound like; I don't eat a lot of potatoes, but they're really good and really filling. When mashed, they're really creamy and melt in your mouth.

And then the Turkey...

[...Uh.]

It tastes like meat. I'm not really sure how to describe it.

[...And that might be the one thing that Tsukiyama actually understands the taste of.]

[Tsukiyama primarily focuses on his playing while Silver talks, but that doesn't mean he isn't paying attention; he's smiling a bit by the time he's done with all of that, though the mention of the turkey gets a light laugh out of him. Yes, he has context for that one.]

That's very good, Silver, thank you. I appreciate it.

[And from the sound of it, he really does.]

It's different to how Ryuunosuke usually does it; he tries so hard to describe actual taste to me, it's a little precious... I like how you did that, though, it was easy to visualize.

You wouldn't know what stuff tastes like, right? But the textures of food are different, too, and...

[...He doesn't usually think that hard on food in favor of shoving it in his face, but...

...Actually, now he's curious.]

Can you season what you eat? You know, with salt or something?

[...There's something unholy to be said here about salt and how much he likes it when people cry, but we're not doing that at Isabelle's dinner.]

...Salt is usually all right. Most other things aren't, though - we can't handle sugar very well, for example, and honestly it smells toxic to me...

[There are some things we don't say at Isabelle's dinner and that is definitely one of them, yes.]

I wonder if it tastes the same to you as it does to me. [...] You've had food you can't eat before, right? What does it taste like?
