It's the end of the summer in Kalos and the Future Foundation outpost has generously decided to host a beach get-together for the survivors of the previous rounds of Dangan Roleplay. With a day full of beach fun followed by a night watching the nearby summer festival's fireworks, there's plenty of opportunities to meet up again and have fun with friends and pokémon.

This is great, Isa-chan! I mean, everything you make is great, but you know. Did you try the lunchbox I brought?

Well, I do usually help take care of the festivals and other celebrations back home!

I did. The egg was very tasty! Though, there was some problems with the... vegetables...?

[mopocalypse]

I bet those are always fun! You seem like you're having a great time no matter what.

[She immediately sulks.] I'm still no good at that, no good... I think I left them in there too long.

[itsabelle]

... You want to help me grill some food?

[mopocalypse]

Sure, sure! [Haruka brightens up just as quickly.] It can't be that hard, right? Is it just the vegetables on sticks thing people do, or what?

[itsabelle]

Uh huh! I also brought some squid, but I'm not sure how well some Pokemon might be if I prepare it.

[mopocalypse]

You mean like with allergies or diets or what? I think it depends on the Pokemon. Meringue just eats grapes and seaweed and stuff, like the ducks at home.

[itsabelle]

Ah, so maybe they wouldn't be bothered seeing us grill up some squid. Okay, I'm going to get some prepared. In the meantime, try cooking up some of the vegetable skewers please.

[mopocalypse]

Sure, sure! I don't think you need to worry. I mean, Weavile really liked it when I made oyakodon for Silver-kun and them in the hotel. He ate, like, half.

[Okay, just... cut vegetables, put them on sticks, and put them on the grill, right? Can't be that hard. Even if these vegetables are chopped pretty crookedly.]

[itsabelle]

Hm... well, if Weavile was okay, I'm sure you'll be fine. Just remember to turn them.

[Now, pardon her ask she goes to get the squid and prepare it for the skewers.]

[mopocalypse]

Turn, huh... [Gonna carefully try not to screw this up. She might actually be getting better at this!]

[itsabelle]

Mhm! We want it cooked evenly on both sides. [The squid will be ready in a moment. Dum de dum dum~]

[mopocalypse]

Okay! That can't be that hard. [staaaaare... she's trying, let's hope this turns out well]

[itsabelle]

[Getting several squid onto sticks, Isabelle comes back over and quietly watches Haruka cook. Oh, she didn't know she had cut some of the vegetables so thick.]

[mopocalypse]

Okay, so... you use the brush thingy on them, put them on the grill, turn them -- pretty simple, right?

[Some of them are indeed thick or crooked, but they seem to be cooking okay for that... oh, wait, that one's on fire. Haruka notices and grabs it off the grill, flailing it around.]

Whoa!

[itsabelle]

That's... right.

[Haruka, she's getting a little concerned with that piece- Oh gosh it's on fire!]

Water bucket! Water bucket!

[mopocalypse]

Hold on! Meringue?

[She waves with her free hand and her dim-witted Psyduck ambles over and shoots a blast of water at the flaming stick.

...okay, and knocks it out of her hand and across the beach. But at least it's not a fire hazard.]

Ehe.

[itsabelle]

[Her ears rise, and her eyes widen as the stick flies high and across the beach. Staring at it, they can both watch as a wild Pokemon just takes it for their dinner.]

... Well, accidents like that can happen.

[mopocalypse]

I'm sorry, Isa-chan... I really am trying to get better at this!

[itsabelle]

It's okay, Haruka. There's still plenty more to prepare.

[mopocalypse]

Right... [She turns her attention back to the other food on the grill.] I know I kinda suck, but I need to try, right? I mean, between Silver-kun and I, I think Fuu-chan swore off eggs for life.

[itsabelle]

That's right. You can only improve with practice! I'm sure you'll get it!

... Futo swore off eggs?

[mopocalypse]

Or at least she's avoiding them... It's cruel, cruel. [Dramatic sniff.] Thanks for your help, Isa-chan. Maybe one day I'll get this stuff. I mean, I finally got the chiffon cake, right?

You're welcome. And yes! You did get the chiffon cake!

I was trying to get that right for ages... Onee-chan was really surprised when I came back and knew how to make it. Though she's the one I remembered helping me! Ehe.
