Community Event 1 : Kalos Beach Party

Hit the beach!



It's the end of the summer in Kalos and the Future Foundation outpost has generously decided to host a beach get-together for the survivors of the previous rounds of Dangan Roleplay. With a day full of beach fun followed by a night watching the nearby summer festival's fireworks, there's plenty of opportunities to meet up again and have fun with friends and pokémon.

[ ... so Kureha's never been to a beach party before. Honestly, she's not... entirely sure what to expect. At least she's dressed properly though, with her hair tied up neatly into a pair of whip-tight twintails that perk up just beside her floofy bear ears. spoiler alert -- she may have done this on purpose.

she spends a good bit of the day exploring the beach like a curious little kid, collecting shells, climbing all over the rocks and building little sand mounds that... might have been sandcastles that she started and then got too embarrassed to finish. Do your best, Kurehan.

A bit later in the afternoon, she takes to swimming and diving like a... well, a bear to water. she looks like she's aiming to collect some bits of Kalosian fauna and some shells to take back as souvenirs.

And you might have spotted her like this once or twice during the day, but come the fireworks, Kureha seems to have fursploded back into smol bear form and is evidently a bit worn out. Because she manages to keep her eyes open for the fireworks show but after that? Yeah, she's napping. ]

Kurehan, you're doing great! [The neon nightmare is waving happily with a Psyduck perched on her head with a vacant stare.] Find anything cool? Weird plants or anything?

but Kureha's smiling as she resurfaces and lifts her cupped hands, carefully cradling a glittering red strip of what... might be seaweed but she isn't sure ]

Well, there's this...! I... honestly don't really know what it is, but it's pretty, isn't it?

[mopocalypse]

[poor fashion choices are a murderschool tradition, Kurehan, she does it to show how much she loves her classmates! ...and because it's funny]

Yeah! I mean, I wouldn't check to see if it was edible--

[The Psyduck, however, hops off her head and she catches it before it can lunge for the seaweed. Your souvenir is saved, Kureha!]

Meringue, stop that. Don't steal food from nice people. Steal it from jerks!

[ PULLING HER PRETTY FIND AWAY FROM THAT PSYDUCK JUST IN CASE... ]

Yeah. I don't think this place would have anything super poisonous like that, but it probably wouldn't be tasty at least.

[ man kureha you sure are putting a whole lot of faith into kalos' basic okayness aren't you ]

Maybe someone who lives here knows what it is?

Meringue sure seems to think it's edible. [She pulls the squirming, flailing Psyduck back until it sighs and slumps in defeat.] So I think you'll be okay touching it and stuff. Back home, I usually just feed it grapes and seaweed and stuff. You know, things regular ducks eat.

[kurechin]

I'll keep it, then. [ smiling down at her catch and looking quietly pleased with herself ] Maybe I can dry it out and press it? Like people do with flowers.

... Maybe I should do that with a bunch of stuff? From the sea and some actual flowers, too. Like a scrapbook, kind of.

[mopocalypse]

Yeah, yeah! Souvenirs from all the worlds you go to! It'll be fun, fun.

[kurechin]

Then I'll give it a shot for sure.

... next time we all meet up, I'll show you guys. Like travel slideshows, but hopefully way less boring, haha.

Then I'll bring you some, too! Meringue already just picks up rocks he finds on the ground, but those aren't really interesting.

[At some point during the evening, a wild Chansey appears!]

Chan~ [She leans over to look at the little bear. You're not a Pokemon, right?]

[kurechin]

[ Kureha jumps a little and leans back a bit, ears flattening a little before she realizes... oh, it's just a Pokemon. Nothing to worry about.

She relaxes a bit, tilting her head up and giving the Chansey a sniff. ]

Uh... hey...?

[milliondollarpipes]

Chan-sey!

[Hi! Would you like an egg? You can have the one she's got in her pouch!]

Woah - hey. [Harvey looks a little hesitant as he comes over, placing a hand on the Chansey's head.] She ain't botherin' you, is she?

[kurechin]

[ she appreciates it but she will pass on an egg in these not-so troubling times, thank you

once Harvey approaches, she tilts her head up towards him and even with the whole bear face going on it's easy enough to tell she's a little... tense. understandable, really. ]

Oh, no-- no, not at all! I just haven't seen a lot of Pokemon up close when I'm... well. Like this.

[milliondollarpipes]

Yeah...

[Harvey shifts, looking away. Awkward tension abounds.]

Well, c'mon, don't run off like that. [He tries to usher the Chansey away, but she leans down, egg cradled between her arms. Look, you should really take this egg. It'll make you feeeeeeeel better~!]

[kurechin]

[ l--leaning back again, ears flattening again... ]

Uh... th--thanks but I'm not really sure if I can eat those kinds of eggs...

[ Kureha you big liar you know perfectly well you can eat eggs you just feel super awkward about taking food from the guy you murdered

well, taking food by proxy, anyway ]

Yeah, just leave it. She doesn't -

[Fine. You don't have to eat the egg. Hope will just sit down right here and go back to watching the fireworks.

Riiiiiiiiight here. Next to Kureha. Harvey blanches a little and glances back in the direction he came. Bothering the poor girl is the LAST thing he wants to do, and standing here fighting with his Pokemon is kinda the definition of that. It's fine if Hope stays. Let's be real, he knows which one of them she really doesn't want to see.]

Okay...uh, you two have fun, I guess. I'm just gonna go.
